HISTORY OF CEDAR PARK
The history of Cedar Park goes way back–in fact, archaeologists have discovered evidence that suggests the area has been continually inhabited by humans since around 5000 B.C.! The area was initially inhabited by several Native American tribes such as the Comanche, Lipan Apache, and the Tonkawa. European settlers arrived in the 19th century and the community originally known as Running Brushy was founded in 1887. Cedar Park as we know it today was officially incorporated as a city in 1973 and is now the third largest city in the Austin area, with 54,000 people calling it home. Cedar Park is a booming community and consistently rates as one of the most coveted places to live. Movato recently ranked it the 5th Most Desirable Suburb in the US and Family Circle Magazine placed Cedar Park, TX on its 10 Best Towns for Families list.
