HISTORY
Founded in 1883, UT is one of the largest and most respected universities in the nation, considered a “Public Ivy” for its rigorous and competitive academics. It is the home of the Longhorns and over 50,000 students. While the university bolsters the energy of this collection of neighborhoods, there’s much more to this section of the city. The area has been steadily growing and becoming a destination for families and older adults. The most recent neighborhood initiative enacted in 2004 was the University Neighborhood Overlay (UNO) plan, which sought to consolidate student housing and bring UT students closer to the university, creating a condensed campus environment, improving parking, and accommodating a growing neighborhood population.
WEST CAMPUS REAL ESTATE MARKET

This is a rapidly growing area in high demand, so housing options are plentiful (especially for renters) but spaces tend to move fast.
