Austin, Texas is well-known for being a hub of innovation, technology, and creativity. Now, it’s about to become an epicenter of convenience! Amazon.com just introduced its Prime Now program that offers 1 hour delivery in Austin. The service is available to Prime members from 8:00AM to 10:00PM every day of the week.
Imagine being able to receive items you ordered online in the amount of time it takes you to watch an episode of Game of Thrones.
Members of Prime Now have to be current members of Amazon Prime, and they’ll need to download an app on their phone. But once they’re set up, they can order a variety of goods for rapid delivery, from everyday items like cold medicine, cereal, and dog food to luxury items like laptops. One hour deliveries cost $7.99 and two hour deliveries are FREE.
Forget to buy a gift for that birthday party tonight? Save time on a trip to the mall by ordering your gift online; it’ll have arrived by the time you get home from work! It’s also a great resource if the bookstore just sold out of the the title you’re looking for because it may be available online and you don’t have to wait for it to be restocked! Essentially, Prime Now is the busy person’s best friend, and we love that Austin gets to experience this new feature.
To make things even more convenient, Amazon has now partnered with Audi and DHL shippers to leave packages in a parked Audi at your house by utilizing a keyless temporary authorization. No longer will people have to worry about missing the delivery person when out walking their dog! For now, the Audi delivery program is only in Germany, but we’re hoping that it comes to Austin like the Prime Now program has.
