What we'd like to focus on in today's post is quality of life in Austin. I know that quality of life is a big and important topic for me personally--I've lived in several cities in this country and actually grew up here in Austin. Once I got back, I realized how much more the city has to offer.
There's various areas of town that people don't even realize are there. For instance, Lake Travis is an incredible natural landmark just outside of the city. It's 30 minutes from downtown, and one of the biggest lakes in the state. In fact, it's been rated the cleanest lake in the state, yet it's such a short drive from being in the middle of such a metroplex! It's quite a rarity.
There's also the small cities surrounding Austin, like Fredericksburg where you can visit several wineries, float lazily down the river, and more. There's Lockhart, which just got rated the number one city in the country for barbecue, and that's about thirty minutes from Austin. I feel like there's a lot of quality of life in that respect.
There's also the outdoors within the city limits. How many cities can you stand up paddleboard through the middle of downtown? How many cities are this biker friendly? I like to take my bike on my day off and barhop on my bike.
I also like to take running tours. I like to take a different jog on Saturdays and tour the different areas of town. I feel like it gives me a different perspective of the market and what's going on. I feel like Austin has so much to offer for quality of life and you can take a staycation pretty much whenever you want and have something to do.
Ultimately our city has a plethora of cool stuff, and all you have to do is look for it! If you haven't found a home in Austin yet, all you have to do is get in touch with us and we'll be thrilled to help you find your new home!
